A global law firm is seeking an experienced legal professional in Singapore to join its Insurance and Reinsurance team. The role involves advising clients on complex coverage matters, managing cyber incident responses, and monitoring disputes. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years in law, be qualified in Singapore or an equivalent jurisdiction, and possess strong research and communication skills. This position offers exposure to a diverse range of international work.
Kennedys Legal Solutions is looking for a professional with experience in insurance or dispute resolution to join our Singapore office. The Insurance, Reinsurance & Cyber team handles a combination of advisory and contentious work (arbitrations) in relation to some of the largest insurance and reinsurance matters in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
The successful candidate will gain experience of advising insurance and reinsurance sector clients on coverage matters (across the range of insurance risks underwritten in the APAC region including, but not limiting to, financial lines, directors and offices, professional indemnity, crime/BBB, cyber policies); be involved in monitoring complex commercial disputes and managing cyber incident responses. The exposure of work also includes advising on subrogated recoveries. The successful candidate will work directly for the Partner in this team and will have regular contact with clients both in Singapore and internationally.
Experience of insurance/reinsurance claims and/or disputes and/or cyber incident response is significantly preferred, but not essential as this team (and Kennedys in general) has a proven track record of training professionals in this area. The successful candidate will have sound basic practical problem solving and legal skills and a drive to develop specialist knowledge within the market leading team for Insurance and Reinsurance in the region.
This is a unique opportunity for a bright and ambitious lawyer keen on working in a market leading and international team within a global law firm. The successful applicant will be exposed to a wide range of international work.
Kennedys Singapore office was established in 2008 and in 2015 entered into a joint law venture (JLV) with local Singapore law firm, Legal Solutions to create Kennedys Legal Solutions. Kennedys Legal Solutions is the Singapore office of the international law firm Kennedys which has 45 offices around the world.
We pride ourselves on helping our clients navigate both business and legal challenges throughout the Asia Pacific region and across multiple practice areas, with a strong focus in both the commercial and insurance/reinsurance sector. We provide a seamless suite of services across both English and Singapore law and are closely connected with our offices in Hong Kong, Australia and the Middle East, as well as partner firms across Asia.
