A leading recruitment consultancy in Singapore is seeking a Legal Counsel with expertise in construction law to join their team. This role involves drafting and negotiating contracts, providing legal advice to various business units, and managing compliance with regulations. Candidates should have a law degree and at least four years of relevant experience in the construction industry. A competitive salary up to $6,000 is offered, along with opportunities for professional growth.
Legal Counsel / Construction Law Experience / Up to $6,000
Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other documents; and render legal advice.
Provide legal advice and support to the group of companies on a broad range of commercial issues.
Setting up of subsidiaries, associates, branches & project offices including closing or liquidation.
Coordinate with external legal counsels and consultants as well as oversee the progress of their work.
Coordinate with and advise business units and departments on legal matters.
Degree in Law with 4 years relevant experience in construction industry.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, contract reviewing and travel when required
Conduct reviews of internal controls to ensure they comply with JSOX requirements.
Evaluating effectiveness of control mechanisms, identifying gaps & recommending improvements.
Ensure processes and procedures align with regulatory standards and best practices to mitigate risks.
Prepare reports & documentation for risk assessments, audits & compliance activities.
Manage compliance programs, ensuring all activities adhere to regulatory and internal standards.
Risk assessments across operational activities, ensuring potential risks are identified & mitigated.
Document from past projects for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Degree in Accounting/Finance/Engineering with 5 years of relevant work experience
Prior compliance audit / Risk Management experience is preferred
