APAC Equity Long/Short Portfolio Manager

Our client is a hedge fund running equity long/short strategies managing several USD billion. We are actively hiring an experienced long/short portfolio manager to be based in Singapore or Hong Kong.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Portfolio Manager to lead a discretionary long/short equity strategy within our hedge fund platform. This role involves full ownership of portfolio construction, investment idea generation, and team leadership, with a focus on delivering strong risk-adjusted returns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and actively manage a long/short equity portfolio grounded in fundamental research
• Generate high-conviction investment ideas through deep industry and company analysis
• Build and maintain detailed financial models to support investment theses
• Lead and mentor a team of research analysts and/or associate portfolio managers
• Continuously evaluate portfolio positioning and adjust exposures to optimize performance and manage risk
• Operate within established risk parameters and adhere to firm-wide compliance and operational standards
• Champion a culture of integrity, accountability, and disciplined decision-making

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2years of experience managing or co-managing a long/short equity portfolio or leading a sector-focused investment team
• Proven ability to articulate and execute a repeatable investment process with a strong risk/reward framework
• Demonstrated track record of generating alpha over time
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and develop investment talent
