Job description

The Software Engineering department at Alfaisal University invites applications for full-time positions. Specific positions and areas of interest include:

  1. Assistant, Associate or Professor of Cybersecurity

    Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science with a focus on Cybersecurity. The successful candidate should have a strong background in cybersecurity methods, techniques, practices, policies, and technologies. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research in relevant areas, and contributing to the development of innovative cybersecurity courses and programs. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and the ability to engage students in hands-on learning experiences.

  2. Assistant, Associate or Professor of Artificial Intelligence

    Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence or a related field. The successful candidate should have a strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, and/or robotics among other areas of AI. Responsibilities include teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, leading research initiatives, and mentoring students in AI-related projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of AI education and research and foster collaboration across disciplines.

  3. Assistant, Associate or Professor of Software Engineering

    Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science. The successful candidate must have a strong research record and have experience of teaching and supervising both graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate is expected to bring experience, energy, motivation, and leadership to the Department of Software Engineering. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge, proven by a strong teaching and research record, to teach courses in Software Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Data Science.

  4. Assistant, Associate or Professor of Game Development

    Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses such as Game Engine Architecture and Implementation, Fundamentals of Game Design, Game Mechanics, Prototyping and Production, and Innovative Topics in Immersive Game Development. The role includes developing a robust curriculum, engaging students in project-based learning, and conducting research in game development technologies. A strong portfolio of industry experience and a commitment to fostering creativity in students is highly desirable.

  5. Instructor or Lecturer

    Applicants must have at least a Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related area. Preference is given to those with lab development and teaching experience. The candidate should have a proven ability to help in teaching computer science, software engineering, and related courses. The candidate should be able to teach core introductory courses such as object-oriented programming, algorithms and data structures, and discrete mathematics.

Applications will be assessed as they are received, and the positions will remain open until filled or the search is closed. Qualified candidates (male and female) are encouraged to apply. Currently, both male and female students are enrolled in the College of Engineering.

The remuneration package includes an internationally competitive salary, housing allowance, and relocation allowance. This is in addition to a large number of fringe benefits that include family annual leave, medical/dental/optical/life insurances, and dependent schooling. Employment will require successful completion of credentials verification and background check(s) in accordance with university policies.
