Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and development of initial design concepts based on client requirements, site analysis, and relevant regulatory guidelines. Present creative, innovative solutions that align with project goals and client vision.
• Prepare and present high-quality concept designs to clients, stakeholders, and governing bodies, ensuring clear communication of design intent, project scope, and vision.
• Engage with clients during the early design phases to refine project scope and vision, incorporating feedback to adjust the design direction as necessary.
• Ensure seamless integration of architectural elements with other building systems (MEP, structural, landscape) at the concept stage.
• Promote the exploration of new architectural styles, materials, and technologies to deliver forward-thinking, sustainable, and aesthetically appealing designs.
• Conduct preliminary feasibility studies to assess the potential for the concept design within the project’s budget, timeline, and site constraints.
• Develop and present initial design documentation including sketches, 3D visualizations, massing models, and material boards to convey the conceptual design.
• Coordinate with key project stakeholders, including engineers, planners, and external consultants, to ensure the concept design aligns with project goals and meets all regulatory and zoning requirements.
• Stay informed about the latest design trends, innovations, and technologies in the architecture field to inspire the development of cutting-edge design solutions.
• Integrate sustainable design principles into the concept phase, considering energy efficiency, environmental impact, and site-specific conditions.
• Identify potential design risks at the concept stage and proactively seek solutions to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project progression into subsequent phases. Stay updated on the latest architectural trends, building materials, and technologies.
• Provide feedback to improve future project processes and execution.
• Monitor contractor performance and progress to identify delays and propose recovery measures.
• Ensure the timely completion of milestones without compromising quality.
• Provide guidance and support to junior inspectors or site team members to ensure consistent quality standards.

• Conduct detailed site analysis, zoning reviews, and feasibility studies to ensure the viability of proposed designs, taking into account environmental impacts, budget constraints, and project timelines.
• Develop spatial layouts and configurations that optimize functionality, aesthetics, and efficiency, adhering to local codes and international standards.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles and energy‑efficient strategies into concept designs, focusing on LEED, WELL, or equivalent certifications.
• Prepare and deliver high‑quality design presentations, including sketches, 3D renderings, and visualizations, to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure concept designs are consistent with client brand standards, particularly for hospitality, mixed‑use, and commercial projects, while pushing creative boundaries.
• Conduct research on architectural trends, materials, and technologies to propose innovative solutions and stay ahead in the field.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and other consultants to integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical considerations into the concept design phase.
• Work closely with clients to develop and refine project briefs, space programs, and functional requirements, ensuring a strong foundation for design development.
• Ensure that concept designs comply with local building regulations, zoning requirements, and other statutory approvals.
• Utilize advanced design tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Rhino, or Grasshopper) to create digital prototypes that explore form, materiality, and performance.
• Iterate and refine concept designs based on feedback from stakeholders and project reviews, maintaining a balance between creativity and practicality.
• Incorporate cultural and historical elements into designs where appropriate, especially in regions with rich architectural heritage, such as the Middle East.
• Identify potential design risks early in the concept phase and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or conflicts in later stages.
• Lead and participate in design charrettes and workshops to engage clients and teams in the creative process and gather diverse input.
• Oversee the creation of mock‑ups or physical models to test and validate design concepts before advancing to detailed design.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (or equivalent); Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in architecture and design management, with expertise in sectors such as mixed‑use, residential, hospitality, government, healthcare, and transportation.
• Strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, 3ds Max, Photoshop, and MS Office.
• Certifications (Preferred): PMP certification or equivalent experience in Project Management Consulting (PMC).
