A leading port management company in Pasir Gudang is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist with the supervision and verification of daily maintenance activities. The role involves carrying out maintenance on material handling equipment, updating checklists, and ensuring workplace safety and cleanliness. Candidates should possess a relevant engineering qualification and have 1-2 years of experience in maintenance. Effective communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. Job description

To assist supervision and the verification daily maintenance and repair activities by maintenance team and to ensure the cleanliness and safety of all mechanical handling equipment are in good operational condition to serve the operation.

Job Responsibilities
  1. To carry out the planned and unplanned Maintenance and Repair activities on JPB material handling equipment as required by Superior and Above Management level.
  2. To update the maintenance checklists upon completion of work on the same day of the execution job done.
  3. To update Superior if experiencing any issues related to the maintenance work as soon as possible to ensure all work order will be completed in timely manner.
  4. To identify problems and apply appropriate methods such as root cause analysis to achieve satisfactory solutions.
  5. To ensure Maintenance and Repair activities are conducted safely to the satisfaction of company policies and procedures.
  6. To keep all tools and company asset in proper way and good working condition.
  7. To ensure workplace cleanliness and conduct 5S upon completion of the work order.
  8. To actively suggest any improvements on work procedures and equipment improvements.
  9. To use engineering knowledge and understanding to apply technical and practical skills.
  10. Always review and select appropriate techniques, procedures and methods to undertake tasks.
Requirements
  1. Possess a minimum Certificate/Diploma in Engineering studies (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronic/Automotive) or equivalent.
  2. 1 – 2 years working experience.
  3. Physically capable to take maintenance and repair tasks without any major health problem.
  4. Possess electrical and mechanical maintenance skills. Understanding with Port material handling equipment and PLC system is advantages.
  5. Ability to handle electrical breakdown and troubleshoot in safety manner with keen eye for details and accuracy of works.
  6. Posses good communication and writing in English and Bahasa Malayia.
