Overview

An enthusiastic teacher of Economics is required to join our successful department to teach IGCSE and ALevel students. Candidates must have a related degree and PGCE with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience. Although not vital, we would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can offer Business Studies and / or Accounting as a second subject.

Key Responsibilities
  • To plan, organise and deliver appropriate learning that promotes the Joy of Learning and guides and encourages students to fulfil their potential.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities that facilitate engaging experiences and rigorous learning.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives and success criteria for all learning activities.
  • Prepare classrooms and learning spaces for class activities.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Identify and select different resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
  • Monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance and development.
  • Assign and assess class work, homework, tests and assignments.
  • Provide appropriate and timely feedback to students on work.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work.
  • Conform to school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the Co curricular activities programme and support school events.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents.
  • Keep updated with developments in subject areas, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • Participate in own professional learning to enrich own practice and contributing to the professional learning of others.
  • To model the school Guiding Principles, be an ambassador for CHIS ensure all communication in and outside of school reflects positively the reputation of CHIS.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/ Environmental Studies / Environmental Science from an accredited institution and in a specialist subject or an equivalent subject according to teaching expectations.
  • Possess a professional teaching qualification from their host country.
  • Relevant teaching experience and knowledge of relevant technology to enhance teaching and own administration.
