Job summary

A leading power engineering company in Malaysia is seeking full-time Contract Staff for a project-based role in social management associated with the Bakun - Murum Junction 275kV Transmission Line Project. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in similar construction projects, possess strong analytical and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and demonstrate knowledge of local regulations. The role entails significant engagement with community leaders and compliance with sustainability standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in social management for construction projects.
  • Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Ability to evaluate progress and community investment impact.

Responsibilities

  • Implement social management plan based on Social Environment Impact Assessment.
  • Develop CSR proposals and community investment project plans.
  • Engage with internal and external CSR practitioners.

Looking for full-time Contract Staff (Project Based) for our Bakun - Murum Junction 275kV Transmission Line Project.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement social management plan based on Social Environment Impact Assessment
  • Conduct Social Management assessment and establish and implement social management plan.
  • Establish and implement a management plan based on Sustainability Standards
  • Full time stationed at site
Requirements
  • At least 5 years' relevant experience in projects similar to the task related to Social Management associated with construction projects;
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in the English and Bahasa Malaysia language;
  • Good communication & presentation skill – verbally and written;
  • Have knowledge of local regulations and customs and good networking with the community leaders and government representatives is an advantage;
  • Good analytical skills and able to use data effectively, evaluate progress and quality of impact of community investment plans, and actively pursue continuous improvements to maximum positive impacts, in partnership with community, regulatory and industry partners;
  • To develop CSR proposals/ initiatives where necessary and community investment project plan;
  • Able to engage proactively with internal and external CSR practitioners and relevant stakeholders (e.g. community leaders, local government representatives) to bring relevant best CSR practices to the organisation;
  • Have experience and/ in-depth knowledge of the key requirements of the Sustainability Standard, the key good practices of IFC in stakeholders’ engagement, the key standards of the Equatorial Principles, the key articles of the UNDRIP and UNSDGs; and
  • Have knowledge and able to imbed the Sustainability Standards into the local project model, applying the International Finance Corporation best practices, complying with the standards of the Equatorial Principles and complying with the articles of the UNDRIP into the local context.
