Job description

We are seeking an experienced K&S Wire Bonder Service Engineer to support semiconductor customers in Malaysia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting, major servicing, overhauling, and calibration of Kulicke & Soffa wire bonding equipment.

This role is ideal for engineers with strong hands-on field experience who are comfortable handling complex mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of K&S wire bonders
• Support the following models:

• iConn
• RAPID
• LA Series

• Execute major servicing / overhauling, including but not limited to:
• Bond head servicing
• XY table inspection and alignment
• Mechanical assemblies teardown & rebuild

• Perform machine calibration and qualification to meet customer process requirements
• Support installation, commissioning, and buy-off at customer sites
• Provide technical advice and service reports to customers and internal teams
• Work closely with customers to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance
• Support spare parts replacement and service documentation

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience servicing K&S wire bonders
• Strong working knowledge of K&S wire bonding principles and processes
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and motion systems
• Ability to perform overhauling, major service, and calibration independently is a strong advantage
• Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing customers
• Willing to travel to customer sites when required
• Good problem-solving skills and customer-oriented mindset
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Added Advantage (Preferred)

• Experience in process optimization / yield improvement
• Experience handling urgent breakdown support in fab environments
• Prior experience working with semiconductor OEMs or MNC customers
