What you’ll do

As Senior Manager, Investment in Putrajaya, you will lead the identification and execution of high-impact investments across multiple sectors. Your day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing deals in venture capital and private equity, conducting market research, building financial models, leading due diligence, collaborating with internal and external partners, driving value creation for portfolio companies, providing insights on industry trends, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, executing transactions, monitoring portfolio performance, facilitating stakeholder communication, and mentoring junior team members. Success combines analytical rigor with interpersonal skills to ensure financial returns and sustainable growth.

• Identify, evaluate, and prioritise new investment opportunities in venture capital, private equity, and emerging technologies that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to inform investment decisions while developing robust financial models to assess potential returns.
• Lead thorough due diligence processes covering financial, legal, operational, and commercial aspects of prospective investments to ensure sound decision-making.
• Drive value creation initiatives by partnering with portfolio management teams to support operational improvements, strategic growth plans, and successful exits.
• Build and nurture strong networks with external financial institutions including venture capital firms, private equity houses, investment banks, advisors, and related companies.
• Ensure all investment activities are aligned with the corporate strategy and long-term goals focused on sustainability and innovation.
• Provide expert insights on emerging industry trends and recommend strategic areas of focus for future investments based on data-driven analysis.
• Execute investments efficiently while overseeing the ongoing performance of portfolio companies across various business units.

• Mentor and guide junior team members as they are recruited into the growing investment function.

What you bring

To excel as Senior Manager, Investment, you will bring extensive hands-on experience from roles involving private equity transactions or venture capital investments, ideally with exposure to M&A or corporate development projects. Your background should include significant involvement in deal origination through execution through post-investment value creation. You will possess outstanding interpersonal skills enabling collaboration across departments and external partnerships. A deep appreciation for sustainability issues and familiarity with agribusiness or manufacturing and production sectors will enhance suitability. • Minimum 8 years’ proven experience in investments, ideally within private equity, venture capital, M&A investment banking or corporate development environments, with a track record of successful deal sourcing and execution.

• Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication abilities that foster trust with internal colleagues and external partners.
• Experience leading due diligence across financial, legal, operational domains with risk identification and mitigation.
• Proven ability to drive value creation post-investment through collaboration with portfolio management teams.
• Understanding of stakeholder management to build consensus while aligning with organizational objectives.
• Exposure to sectors relevant to agribusiness, renewables, sustainability or manufacturing and production is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams, with flexibility to changing priorities.
