Job summary

A leading global manufacturer in Malaysia is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide legal advice, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with local and corporate standards. The ideal candidate will have a BA or MA in Law, MAICSA qualification preferred, and 5-8+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential. This role offers the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders and handle complex legal matters in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of experience as Legal Counsel, Legal Advisor or Company Secretary preferably in a MNC.
• Excellent knowledge of contract law, company and corporate law.
• Educated business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Providing legal advice and support in all legal matters.
• Responsibility for contract review and contract negotiations.
• Managing company secretarial work with ideally a qualification as chartered company secretary.
• Acting as point of contact for all compliance matters.

Skills

Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia

Excellent communication skills in English

Ability to analyze complex legal topics

Knowledge of contract law

High competence in general legal matters
