Senior Lecturer-Family Medicine (Faculty of Medicine)
The Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine plays a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching, engaging in scholarly activities, and supporting the academic and clinical training of medical students. This position involves teaching in both pre-clinical and clinical settings, contributing to curriculum development, and advancing research and service activities that align with the mission of the Faculty of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and clinical teaching to undergraduate medical students.
- Prepare, review, and update teaching materials, assessments, and examination questions (including OSCE and clinical exams).
- Supervise student projects, clinical case presentations, and research activities.
- Participate in student mentoring, academic advising, and small-group learning activities (PBL, CBL, etc.).
- Ensure teaching aligns with the standards of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and professional accreditation bodies.
2. Research & Scholarly Activities
- Conduct scholarly research, medical education studies, or clinical research relevant to Family Medicine.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
- Contribute to collaborative research projects within the faculty.
3. Academic Administration & Service
- Participate in curriculum review, programme development, and quality assurance activities.
- Serve on faculty and university committees as assigned.
- Support faculty events, outreach programmes, and student activities.
4. Professional Development & Leadership
- Engage in continuous professional development in medical education and clinical practice.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to departmental growth.
- Participate in community engagement, health promotion, and continuing medical education programmes.
Qualifications
Required:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council.
Preferred:
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Master’s in Clinical Specialty, PhD, Medical Education).
- Strong background in Family Medicine with demonstrated teaching and research experience.
