Job summary

A leading medical facility in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated Anaesthesiologist to provide safe anaesthetic care for surgeries and manage patient care effectively. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate specialist qualification in Anaesthesiology and a minimum of 3–5 years of experience, preferably in a private hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical judgement and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to ethics and professionalism is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years post-specialist experience preferred, ideally in private hospital.
  • Registered with MMC and National Specialist Register (NSR) – Anaesthesiology.
  • Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective anaesthetic care for surgeries.
  • Manage peri-operative and post-operative care.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and hospital policies.

Requirements
  • MBBS / MD or equivalent recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)
  • Postgraduate Specialist Qualification in Anaesthesiology or equivalent recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)
  • Completed specialist training in Anaesthesiology
  • Registered with MMC and National Specialist Register (NSR) – Anaesthesiology
  • Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • Minimum 3–5 years post-specialist experience preferred (private hospital experience is an advantage)
  • Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and patient‑centred approach
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to safety, ethics, and professionalism
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective anaesthetic care for elective and emergency surgeries
  • Manage peri‑operative and post‑operative care, including pain management
  • Provide anaesthetic support for Operation Theatre, ICU, Emergency Department, and procedural sedation cases (where applicable)
  • Participate in resuscitation, peri‑operative risk assessment, and clinical decision‑making
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, MMC/NSR standards, and hospital policies
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement, audits, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and training support to junior doctors and clinical staff
  • Participate in on‑call duties as rostered
