Description and Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers specializing in both manual and automated testing.
- Assign tasks, review deliverables, and monitor progress to ensure timely project completion.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members on testing techniques and tools.
Test Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy that includes both manual and automated testing.
- Define test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and non‑functional requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
Manual Testing
- Perform exploratory, functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure system reliability.
- Validate software against requirements by executing test cases and documenting results.
- Identify, log, and track bugs, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
Automation Testing
- Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks and scripts.
- Automate test cases for regression, performance, and API testing to improve efficiency.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor their execution.
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a liaison between QA, development, and product teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
- Advocate for quality best practices across all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Process Improvement
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Stay informed about emerging QA trends and technologies to enhance testing practices.
- Drive root cause analysis for defects and recommend preventive measures.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in QA testing (manual and automation), with at least 2 years in a lead role.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of manual testing processes and techniques.
- Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) for automation.
- Hands‑on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certification.
- Experience in testing across multiple platforms (web, mobile, APIs).
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Percentage of test coverage (manual and automated).
- Test execution efficiency and defect detection rate.
- Reduction in production bugs and post‑release defects.
- Team productivity and skill development metrics.
