Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction and ocular health assessments, to ensure accurate diagnosis and prescription.
  • Prescribe spectacles and contact lenses based on patients’ clinical needs, visual requirements, and lifestyle suitability.
  • Conduct detailed patient case history taking, and identify signs of ocular disease, injury, or vision abnormalities for appropriate management or referral.
  • Provide professional consultation and advice on vision care, ocular health, and eyewear recommendations.
  • Deliver clear explanations of examination results, treatment plans, and proper usage and maintenance of prescribed optical products.
  • Uphold the highest standards of clinical practice and patient care in line with professional optometry guidelines.
Requirements
  • Have full working rights for Malaysia.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry (recognized qualification).
  • Valid registration with the Malaysian Optical Council (or eligibility to register).
  • Strong clinical knowledge with commitment to delivering evidence‑based patient care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build patient trust and confidence.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a clinical team.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and positive working attitude.
