Job description

UTM Holdings Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Operation & Maintenance Technician to manage the operation and maintenance of our food court (Arked Meranti at UTM Skudai) and Rooftop Solar PV system in UTM Skudai. This is a contract role, where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of both operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to food court (Arked Meranti) mechanical & electrical equipment/system.
• Carry out inspection, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for the Rooftop Solar PV System, including solar panels, inverters, electrical wiring & equipment, and solar PV monitoring systems.
• Identify and address any issues or malfunctions in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with clients and contractors to plan and schedule O&M ( Operation & Maintenance) services, ensuring smooth communication and on‑site task supervision.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance tasks, repair works and Rooftop Solar PV system performance including preparation of reports and documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management to meet operational needs.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum SPM, SKM Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or related technical field.
• At least 1‑2 years of working experience in facilities maintenance or in Solar PV system operation & maintenance.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and Solar PV systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematic, and maintenance reports.
• Proficient in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of maintenance issues.
• Able to work at site; physically fit for outdoor and hands‑on work. Male candidates preferred due to site nature of work.
• Strong teamwork, responsibility, and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work in shifts, on public holidays, and weekends when required.
• Possess own transport and valid driving licence is preferred.
