  • Degree qualification in Finance, Investment, Economics, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees such as MBA or any Master’s in the same field is preferred.
  • Membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountant (MICPA), etc. is preferred.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • 5 - 7 years of working experience in corporate finance, investment, consulting, or any related working experience.
  • Proven experience in developing structured problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, ability to contribute ideas and conceptualise new strategic approaches and solutions.
The Job
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Strategy Division efforts to drive mid to long-term corporate planning process, financial & business analysis, reporting and driving strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with SIME UMW and SDB’s 5-Year Strategic Plan.

Business Development Initiatives
  • Support executive decision-making and strategic planning tasks via analysis of financial data, development of financial models / projections and assessment of viability of potential investments and projects.
  • Prepare evaluation papers, stakeholder engagement proposals and project status reports in support of value creation activities and launch of project execution plans.
  • Conduct business assessments of internal companies and provide recommendation in relation to financial performance, potential business opportunities, challenges, and risk.
  • Conduct financial impact analysis and peer benchmarking tasks to support business optimisation efforts. Support development of business growth and catch-up plans, as required.
  • Prepare investment / divestment evaluation papers / status reports for senior management, committee, and board deliberation.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and provide support and coordination for completion of transactions.
  • Support the SIME UMW Head of Strategy and the Head Corporate Finance in ad-hoc tasks as required.
