Job summary

A reputable corporate group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide legal support and manage legal functions across various businesses. The ideal candidate should have a tertiary qualification in Law and 3 years of experience in private practice or in-house. Responsibilities include drafting contracts, managing compliance risks, and liaising with external parties for legal matters. A strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. This is a full-time permanent position with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities

Position: Legal Counsel.

Location: Kuala Lumpur (5‑day week).

This is a group of established companies listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia. Their business activities are diversified ranging from business and financial services, property development, manufacturing, travel & tours and F&B retail services. Currently they are actively looking for a legal professional with corporate and commercial experience to undertake the role of a Legal Counsel based at their corporate head office in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

• To provide legal support and manage the legal functions for the Group's businesses and operations.
• To draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial and corporate contracts/agreements.
• To act as legal and compliance risk officer of the company and Group.
• Assist in identifying areas of legal and compliance risks and their implications to the Group and provide solutions/strategies for managing, identifying and mitigating such risks.
• Act as liaison officer for any legal and contractual matters with the government bodies, banks, contractors, external solicitors to ensure legal compliance and risks are well managed.

• Malaysian male or female.
• Possess tertiary qualification in Law (LLB).
• Minimum 3 years of post qualification experience in private practice or in-house.
