Key Responsibilities
- Assist in advising clients on corporate and commercial law matters
- Draft, review, and assist in negotiating corporate and commercial agreements, including service agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and other related documents
- Assist in mergers, acquisitions, disposals, and other corporate transactions, including due diligence exercises
- Advice clients on company incorporations, resolutions, statutory filings, and general corporate secretarial matters (where applicable)
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda or reports
- Liaise with clients, regulators, and external parties under supervision
- Support senior lawyer & Partner in transaction management and documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal procedures
- Organise corporate seminar and clients’ signing ceremony
- Has experience with handling and preparing full procedures in Subsale / Developer's matter; Refinancing (Individual & Corporate Loan), Auction, Transfer & Transmission cases
- Prepare legal documents relating to conveyancing and loan documentation
- Work independently under minimum supervision and comply with the timeline set by the authority, superior and lawyer
- Manage time well and keep track of key dates (eg, completion date, stamping date, presentation date, filing CKHT date, signing date, etc) by producing a completed weekly status report
- Assist in administrative work, including file opening, document compilation, and data entry into developer's systems or portals
Qualifications and Requirements
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent from a recognised institution
- Called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya
Experience
- 1–2 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate and/or commercial legal practice and/or litigation practice
- Prior corporate and/or litigation experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department is preferred
- Exposure to corporate transactions, commercial contracts, or regulatory work will be an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in English & Mandarin
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of corporate and commercial laws and litigation
- Good drafting and legal research skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and take instructions from superior
- Plus point: Critical thinking skills & commercial sense

- Familiar with banking and developer documentation as well as relevant government authority procedures and timelines

- Ability to adapt to different banks' requirements, portals, and procedures
- Able to start work immediately or within a short notice period will be an added advantage
