Responsibilities

Prepare prompt and reliable financial statements such as profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.

Oversee and lead the consolidation of financial results from various entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness across the region.

Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal company policies.

Strongly knowledgeable in end‑to‑end AP, AR, and general ledger functions.

Track and manage budgets, analyze variances, and propose corrective steps where necessary.

Work closely with departmental leaders to ensure budget goals support operational requirements.

Review financial outcomes versus approved budgets and forecasts.

Handle the allocation of corporate centre costs to the respective profit centres.

Identify potential financial risks or opportunities in the region and recommend suitable mitigation or enhancement strategies.

Establish and monitor controls to safeguard financial and operational processes.

Collaborate with teams such as sales, operations, and supply chain to align financial priorities with wider business objectives.

Offer financial insights and advisory support to assist regional decision-making.

Lead coordination of external audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations.

Implement and reinforce financial procedures to maintain strong internal governance.

Oversee transfer pricing compliance in accordance with IRB regulations.

Ensure LHDN e‑invoice requirements are accurately integrated and transmitted on schedule to IRBM.

Supervise, mentor, and grow the regional accounting team, providing professional guidance and support.

Cultivate a collaborative, performance‑driven team culture.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ISCA, Chartered Accountant, or ACCA.
  • At least 10 years of hands‑on experience in accounting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capability in managing accounting operations.
  • Preferably experienced in trading or distribution‑focused industries.
  • ERP implementation exposure is an advantage.
  • Strong grasp of financial regulations, accounting standards, and analytical practices.
  • Skilled in producing detailed and complex financial calculations and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to prepare monthly presentations.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Navision, or Business Central is advantageous.
  • Highly organized, meticulous, resilient, and strong in execution.
  • A dependable team player who can perform well under tight deadlines.
  • Experience managing a shared services centre is an added plus.
