Finance Head (Malaysia Shah Alam | Strategy Business Partnering)

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Finance Head to lead our finance function and partner closely with the business. This role oversees the full spectrum of accounting, financial reporting, controls, and team leadership, while also playing a key role in strategic and operational decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of approximately 8 members
• Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capability building within the team
• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance
• Be accountable for the month‑end closing process, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy, with balanced focus on both Income Statement and Balance Sheet
• Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
• Monitor credit risks and provide regular updates to the business on receivables matters
• Maintain robust processes and controls over accounts payable activities
• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and procedures
• Monitor compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and reporting standards
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns

Business Partnering & Strategic Support

• Provide timely financial insights and analysis to support management decisions and strategic initiatives
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to drive cost optimisation and operational efficiency
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes
• Proactively identify and drive process improvements, working closely with key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (professional qualification such as CPA/ACCA preferred)
• Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, managing a team
• Strong technical knowledge in accounting, financial reporting, and taxation
• Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and able to balance operational execution with strategic thinking
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
