Job summary

A leading FMCG company in Malaysia is seeking an Accounting professional to manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely record-keeping and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in SAP accounting systems and Microsoft Office is preferred. The role emphasizes detail orientation, analytical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Job description

Handle assigned accounting functions (AP, AR, GL) depending on structure

Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions

Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure proper approval

Prepare payment schedules and coordinate payments in accordance with company procedures

Monitor accounts receivable, key in sales order, issue delivery order, invoices and credit note, follow up on outstanding balances, prepare debtor aging and analysis

Process the data entry into customer B2B system

Perform bank reconciliations

Assist in variance analysis and provide explanations when required

4. Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements

Assist in e-invoicing / tax matters, audit preparation, and external/internal audit exercises

Support implementation of new accounting processes or system enhancements

5. Process Improvement & Support

Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls

Work closely with other departments on finance-related matters

Perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by the superior

Requirement

Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience within FMCG industry would be a plus.

Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.

Experience with SAP accounting system is preferred.

Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. Proven capability in managing multiple completing priorities simultaneously.

Proactive, highly motivated and flexible. Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Good communication and interpersonal skills. Responsible, reliable, humble and committed to accuracy.

Willing to learn and adapt to changes.

Experienced with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
