Job Title: Facilities Electrical Engineer
Location: Bayan Lepas, Penang

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and technically strong Facilities Electrical Engineer to manage and maintain the electrical infrastructure of our advanced electronic manufacturing facility and on-site Data Center in Penang. This role is critical in ensuring uninterrupted power supply, electrical safety, system reliability, and compliance across production floors, cleanrooms, and mission‑critical environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting factory operations and maintaining high system uptime through effective maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of electrical assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems, including MV/LV power distribution, switchgear, transformers, backup generators, UPS, busducts, and power monitoring systems.
  • Ensure continuous and stable electrical supply to cleanrooms, production tools, and Data Center infrastructure (e.g., UPS systems, PDU panels, precision cooling systems).
  • Work closely with IT and facilities teams to maintain Data Center electrical reliability in line with global best practices (e.g., Tier standards, N+1 redundancy).
  • Lead and coordinate contractors and vendors for electrical work, preventive maintenance, testing, and upgrades.
  • Conduct electrical risk assessments and ensure strict adherence to Malaysian electrical safety regulations (e.g., Suruhanjaya Tenaga, DOSH).
  • Review and update SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), load schedules, and emergency response plans.
  • Implement and monitor energy conservation initiatives and propose system upgrades for improved efficiency and sustainability.
  • Support new equipment installation and facility expansion by reviewing electrical system capacity, layout design, and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for any power incidents or system failures.
  • Prepare and manage electrical system documentation, including PM records, test reports, and compliance certificates.
  • Support internal and external audits related to electrical infrastructure, energy usage, and safety compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Candidate with Chargeman B0 11kV or 33kV certificate is preferred.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in facilities electrical engineering in an electronic/semiconductor or high‑tech manufacturing environment.
  • Solid technical knowledge of power distribution systems (MV/LV), backup power systems (UPS, gensets), and Data Center electrical support.
  • Familiar with Malaysian statutory regulations and submission requirements (e.g., ST, DOSH, BOMBA).
  • Hands‑on experience with BMS, EMS, and CMMS tools (e.g., Maximo).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Able to support 24/7 operations and respond to emergencies when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Data Center electrical standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier classification, IEEE standards).
  • Exposure to energy efficiency programs, ISO 14001/45001, and green building practices.
  • Familiar with electrical compliance audits, lightning protection systems, and surge protection.
