What's the role
This role leads the full lifecycle of SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) data migration, ensuring accurate, first‑time‑right delivery across Upstream, Downstream, and IG business areas. It provides expert functional guidance on SAP S/4HANA configuration and establishes data standards, validation rules, and quality controls for PM data objects. The role oversees KPI performance and stakeholder alignment while managing extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading of data from multiple legacy systems. It also includes reconstructing ISO‑compliant asset hierarchies, developing automated mapping logic, and supporting the planning and scheduling of PM Plans within SAP S/4HANA.
What you'll be doing
- Lead end‑to‑end SAP S/4HANA data migration for Upstream, Downstream, and Integrated Gas.
- Provide functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) configuration.
- Define and apply data standards, rules, and validation criteria for PM objects.
- Track project KPIs, quality, and progress, and engage with stakeholders regularly.
- Extract data from legacy systems (Blueprint, GSAP, Chemical, Crystal) using custom T‑codes/programs.
- Transform and prepare legacy data to match SAP S/4HANA structures and load formats.
- Rebuild Asset Hierarchies following ISO 14224 standards.
- Develop automated mapping logic for legacy‑to‑S/4HANA data conversion.
- Run data quality checks and perform data cleansing.
- Load PM master and planning data using automated tools.
- Support planning and scheduling of PM Plans within SAP S/4HANA.
- Understand how maintenance data is used across sites and business units.
- Collaborate with managers and specialists to standardize project methods and tools.
- Contribute to project strategy, planning, and execution.
- Support tracking of progress, costs, KPIs, and overall performance.
- Document and share lessons learned and best practices.
- Help develop team capabilities and technical knowledge.
What you bring
- A university degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline, as formal education provides an essential foundation for the role.
- Practical experience in Plant Maintenance within Manufacturing or Upstream environments, including familiarity with CMMS tools such as WIMS, SPI IN, and EDMS. Candidates should be comfortable applying prior hands‑on knowledge in similar settings.
- Ability to manage technical data, documentation, and associated processes and systems with accuracy and care.
- Proficiency in SAP PM Master Data objects, including Functional Locations, Equipment, BoMs, Characteristics, Measuring Points, Work Centers, and Task Lists.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP PM Planning and Transactional Data, such as Maintenance Plans, Items, Notifications, and Work Orders.
- Understanding of PM data standards, particularly ISO 14224.
- Competence in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
- Proficiency to read and interpret engineering drawings, including PFS, PEFS, and SLDs.
- Experience in Power BI visualization, data modelling, and SQL is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Mass Data Tools is an added advantage.
- Strong stakeholder‑management capabilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management skills, including project tracking and reporting.
- Background in Plant Maintenance, ideally within Oil & Gas, Heavy Engineering, or Power Plant environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project.
- Ability to work effectively with teams across multiple time zones.
