Position: Contract Executive
Location: Petaling Jaya
Employment Type: Permanent (Direct hire, not under agency)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Role Overview
The Contract Executive supports contract administration, claims management, and commercial coordination to ensure contractual compliance and effective risk control throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and administering construction contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements
- Ensure contractual compliance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable laws
- Maintain accurate contract documentation, records, and correspondence
Claims & Variations
- Assist in preparing and evaluating variation orders, Extension of Time (EOT), and claims for loss and expense
- Monitor contractual notices and ensure timely submissions in accordance with contract conditions
- Support the assessment of subcontractor and supplier claims
Cost & Commercial Support
- Assist in monitoring cost implications, progress claims, and payment certifications
- Track contractual risks, liabilities, and potential disputes
- Support cost control initiatives and commercial reporting
Project Coordination
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams
- Attend project meetings and provide contractual input when required
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on contract-related matters
Compliance & Risk Management
- Identify contractual risks and elevate issues to management
- Monitor compliance with contractual timelines, milestones, and obligations
- Assist in dispute resolution processes, including mediation or adjudication support
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in contract administration or commercial roles within the construction or engineering industry
- Experience with standard forms of contract is an added advantage
- Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is preferred (to liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts)
