Job summary

A leading bank in Malaysia is looking for a Collections Officer for Mortgage Loans in Subang Jaya. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in non-performing loans (NPL) or mortgage collections, alongside a diploma in any field. Responsibilities include managing inbound calls, updating documents, negotiating settlements, and handling the post-auction portfolio. Applicants with banking or finance experience, particularly in collections, will have an added advantage. Good judgement and knowledge of the Malaysian legal system are also essential.

Collections for Mortgage Loan - (Subang Jaya)

Implement action plan to minimise collection losses and maximise recoveries

Responsibilities

• Attend to all inbound calls from the Collections general line promptly.


• Update all cheques received into DMS within the same day.


• Update all inward letters, faxes, etc., into DMS within the same day.


• Perform signature verification of all documents sent by borrowers.


• Raise maintenance requests for post‑verification tasks: change of contact info, appointment of a 3rd party to inquire into the account, deceased status updating, bankrupt status updating.


• Manage the Post Auction portfolio by collecting auction proceeds in a timely manner.


• Analyse and review the weekly/monthly performance of auctions and provide corrective measures.


• Liaise with lawyers regarding specific cases and/or plan solutions to enhance collection of accounts.


• Negotiate with customers on settlement of accounts when necessary.


• Review settlement of accounts.


• Responsible for the management and recovery of consumer Non‑Performing Loans/Mortgage Loan.

Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years experience in NPL/Mortgage Collections.


• Preferably holding a minimum Diploma in any field.


• Experience in banking/finance, especially with collections and related legal matters, will be an added advantage.


• Good judgement and extensive knowledge of the Malaysian legal system.
