Job description
CLINIC RECEPTIONIST, CONSULTATION CLINIC
  • To manage Resident/Sessional Consultant outpatient clinic including appropriate scheduling of outpatient appointments and surgery times and ensuring the smooth running of the clinic to the satisfaction of all patients.
  • To communicate effectively with patients and referring doctors on the scheduling of outpatient appointments, investigations and admission for surgery.
  • To assist Resident/Sessional Consultant and chaperone patients during clinic sessions and to perform basic observations such as blood pressure, heart rate and body weight prior to the patient seeing Consultant.
  • To facilitate patient enquiries relating to their outpatient appointments and hospital admissions, including date of admission, admission procedures, insurance, billing, discharge and follow-up care.
  • To key in appointments in the Hospital Information System (HIS), KCIS for the patients and prepare admission for procedure/surgery.
  • To sort out PMR and carry out orders during the last follow up before each clinic session.
  • To assist in sending patients to Emergency Department for further treatment and management if required.
  • To assist to send patients to other department such as Radiology, Non-Invasive Cardiac Laboratory, etc for clinical investigations or tests.
  • To co-ordinate the clinical, academic and professional activities of Resident/Sessional Consultant and schedule meetings, appointments, lectures, events, etc, appropriately (if necessary).
  • To communicate and provide information to patients and relatives about their care and condition, before, during and after their hospital admission.
  • To deal with correspondences, phone calls and scheduling Resident/Sessional Consultant's appointments.
  • To assist Resident/Sessional Consultant in organizing events and conferences as required.
  • To manage databases and filing systems.
  • To liaise with staff, suppliers and patients on behalf of Resident/Sessional Consultant.
  • Any dispatch patient medical record and x-rays to others department as and when is necessary.
  • Any other duties as instructed by Unit Manager, Team Lead and respective Resident/Sessional Consultant.
