Job summary

A technology firm in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Process Engineering Manager to support process optimization efforts and drive manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering or a related field, with over 5 years of experience in process engineering. Skills in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and CAD software are essential. This role involves leading teams, facilitating continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with various departments to enhance production processes and reduce waste.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering design documents.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans, and root cause analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and supervising process engineering activities.

Job description
Job Requisition:
  1. Degree/Master: Electronic & Electrical/RoboticEngineering Technology or Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, a related discipline or equivalent and demonstrated 5 year experience of experience in process engineering or manufacturing environment Prior involvement in large-scale process improvement or automation projects is preferred
  2. Ability to interpret engineering design documents: ie. schematics, drawings
  3. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  4. Familiar with PFMEA, control plans, and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
  5. Skilled in process flow, line balancing, cycle time analysis, and work standardization
  6. Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and process simulation tools
  7. Good leadership, communication, and project management skills
  8. Able to work cross-functionally and handle multiple projects
Job Reponsibilities:
  1. Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising process engineering activities
  2. Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to optimize productivity and reduce cost/waste
  3. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for process issues
  4. Implement Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives
  5. Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Molding teams on process development
  6. Prepare and maintain process documentation, FMEA, control plans, and work instructions
  7. Monitor KPis (Cycle Time, Yield, OEE, etc.) and report process performance
  8. Support in capacity planning, equipment layout, and manpower arrangement
  9. The Assistant Process Engineering Manager supports the Process Engineering Manager in overseeing and improving production processes
  10. Leading engineering teams, implementing lean manufacturing practices, and ensuring process efficiency, quality, and safety.
