Job summary

A leading property developer in Malaysia is seeking an experienced contract manager to oversee contractual aspects of projects from tender to completion. Responsibilities include managing contract documentation, liaising with stakeholders, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with contract terms. The ideal candidate possesses a Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management and has at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Property or Consulting firms.
  • Well versed with contracts administration, negotiation and management.
  • Computer literate with strong spreadsheet skills.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all matters pertaining to contractual terms stated in tenders such as costing and commercial related implications
  • Involve from the preliminary stage of the projects, contractual and financial aspects – pre‑tender stage to post‑contractual phase and project close‑up
  • Manage and prepare all contract documentations and schedules and provide support in the estimation of project costs, preparation of specifications, bill of quantities and other tender requirements
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including project managers, procurement teams, and legal counsel, to ensure alignment on contract terms and conditions
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure the project is executed in compliance with the respective tender and identify issues to the management
  • Manage valuation of monthly progress payments, closing of final accounts and implementation of cost control measures
  • Resolve contract disputes and issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Able to work independently without much guidance
Qualifications
  • Must possess at least a Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Property or Consulting firms
  • Well versed with contracts administration, negotiation and management
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Computer literate with strong spreadsheet skills
  • Matured, proactive, reliable, self‑motivated, able to multitask and work independently
  • Results oriented with skills to lead, coach and manage the team on accomplishment of tasks
