Job summary

A construction company in Johor Bahru is seeking a Resident Architect/Inspector of Works with a diploma in Architecture and at least 6 years of experience managing architectural projects. Responsibilities include supervising work to ensure compliance with regulations, maintaining quality control, and providing reports. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge in Civil & Structural Engineering and will be required to work night shifts. A competitive salary ranging from RM 4,000 to RM 7,000 is offered.

Architectural - Resident Architect / Inspector of Works (IOW)

Project Overview

Proposed addition & alteration to existing building and construction of hotel apartments on existing podium at Johor Bahru.

Duration of Works

Target December 2025 to November 2027 (24 months)

Responsibilities

• Supervise works in accordance to Building Control Act, Regulations and approved plans.
• Analyze project drawings/specifications and provide feedback on discrepancies before onsite work commences.
• Maintain quality control and ensure works are carried out per project specifications, materials, drawings, sketches, site instructions by supervising qualified persons and project consultants.
• Ensure contractors comply with Building Control Act, Regulations, Codes of Practices and requirements of building authorities and government agencies.
• Observe and comply with site safety and ensure works are carried out safe and proper manner.
• Supervise all architectural works with proficiency in Civil & Structural Engineering as required under project and mandated under Building Control Act & Regulations.
• Report to Superintending Officer.
• Provide consolidated daily summary and weekly reports.
• Participate in client/consultant's site meeting and technical meeting when requested.
• Require to work night shift.

Requirements

• Diploma in Architecture from a recognised institution.
• Registered with a professional body such as Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM).
• At least 6 years or more relevant experience of projects in architectural works.
