Successful candidates will have over five years of experience in operationally complex technology firms and a proven ability to lead teams and influence others. The role requires excellent facilitation skills and professional English proficiency.

About the Role

The Product Operations Leader is a manager of people with the skill and attitude to influence and enable others to be the best that they can be. This individual is expected to be a leader first and foremost, with their success being measured as a direct result of the success of their respective team and the operational success of the Product organization.

Product Operations Leader is directly responsible for implementing and maintaining product management disciplines and standards as a means of enabling product management excellence. This role works cross-functionally with key partners and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle (including Engineering, Analytics, Marketing, Sales, and others) to define best practices, facilitate learning & development programs to educate team members, and to drive the adoption of these standards.

This position is responsible for driving successful step-change improvements in product management practices to ensure our product development efforts achieve maximum impact and that the Product Management team is always operating at its best. This position will work alongside the Head of Product, interact with leaders across the portfolio, and be directly responsible for leading strategic initiatives intended to build a high performing product management organization.

The Product Operations Leader must have excellent facilitation skills and a track record for driving and sustaining behavioral change. The ability to influence senior leaders and their respective teams will be critical, with an emphasis on helping teams think differently about their work processes and deliverables to align with best practices.

Essential functions
  • Build a product operations team that can support the product organization with systems, templates & best practices.
  • Directly supervise and manage a product operations team. This includes recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating personnel performance.
  • Develop and maintain team planning procedures, including stand-ups, product release planning, feature and defect grooming practices.
  • Consult with other product leaders and stakeholders to determine areas of highest impact for improved product management practices.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities in current operations and propose solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness via both process and product improvements.
  • Influence the adoption of best practices and implementation of formal processes that deliver higher operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Implement practices that improve client need identification, market assessment and discovery.
  • Keep the voice and journey of the customer present in the product process.
  • Establish a strong beta program. Product is talking to customers and I in the end will have to create a framework and process for all of this.
  • Support & maintain alignment amongst key stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify trends in customer reported issues and launch support improvements.
  • Work closely with product managers to define, measure and report on KPIs, as well as develop action plans for risks and issues that arise.
  • Directly facilitate formal training sessions and workshops to build team members product management capability.
  • Engage Product leaders and team members to develop solutions to important, highly complex problems, where cross-department considerations are often present.

What you bring
  • Previous experience owning ambitious product initiatives from design and development to kick-off to post-launch analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience working with high growth, operationally complex technology companies.
  • 5+ years of experience working closely with cross-functional product teams; previous experience owning product development a plus.
  • Deep agile training and expertise.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and manage teams both directly and indirectly.
  • Experience in project management, operations, & change management.
  • Language: Professional English proficiency, both written and verbal.
