Responsibilities
Role Objective

As Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of EHS strategies to Stargate safety, health, sustainability, and operational continuity. This role is critical to preventing losses and mitigating operational risks in one of our most automated facilities within the Snacking business.

What You’ll Do
  • Promote and embed an EHS culture aligned with PepsiCo’s vision of Performance with Purpose: Safety & Sustainability.
  • Guarantee the execution of the Environmental Health & Safety Strategy at Plant Vallejo.
  • Manage and control programs focused on Zero Accidents, Operational Risk Mitigation, Environmental Efficiency, Healthy Living, and Safe Driving.
  • Oversee the EHS Management System and compliance with legal requirements, including audits and action plan monitoring.
  • Consolidate a culture of environmental sustainability, driving initiatives that optimize natural resource use (water, fuel, electricity) and recycling activities.
  • Achieve productivity results across all EHS KPIs in line with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Build technical and administrative capabilities in EHS leaders through training programs and certification of internal auditors.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to strengthen EHS integration.
  • Promote the professional development of the EHS team.
Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the design and execution of EHS strategies to ensure safety, health, sustainability, and operational continuity.
  • Identify opportunities, collaborate with functional areas, and develop projects that deliver shareholder value while safeguarding people and assets.
  • Partner with PMF key leaders to integrate EHS into core business functions.
  • Implement operational best practices and maintain a sustainability performance dashboard to measure and report progress.
  • Act as a technical advisor on energy, water, waste, and sustainability.
  • Execute projects to maximize environmental resource efficiency.
  • Ensure technological safety solutions to prevent incidents and mitigate risks across fleet and assets.
  • Develop studies in industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and psychosocial health.
  • Implement and sustain the Global Environmental, Health and Safety Management System (GEHSMS).
  • Coordinate EHS programs across all plant locations.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement improvement plans for incidents.
  • Oversee risk assessment, compliance, and metrics within the EHS management system.
  • Validate and execute projects to improve machinery safety design (LOTO, guarding, hazard prevention).
  • Support training programs that drive cultural change and autonomous safety practices.
  • Develop and execute safety leadership programs.
  • Strengthen contractor management safety systems in collaboration with operations, engineering, facilities, procurement, and corporate security.
  • Audit and review operational processes to ensure timely compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Lead and inspire the team to maximize individual talent and deliver results for both people and the business.
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years EHS experience in manufacturing industries, transportation, or energy‑intensive consumption industries.
  • 5+ years leading EHS teams.
  • Background in developing/leading teams from a strategic standpoint.
  • Career progression within operations with experience as an EHS professional.
  • Proficient in various information solution packages (e.g., audit tracking programs, incident databases, web‑enabled knowledge sharing).
  • Effective communication from the shop floor to the executive level روک>
  • Fluent in English proficiency.
