Overview

The Digital Workplace Services Architect will play a critical role in advancing Milestone Technologies’ portfolio of offerings for our global customers. Leveraging deep technical expertise, strong architectural vision, and a consultative approach, this individual will drive digital transformation initiatives, optimize end-user computing environments, and ensure modern, secure, and high-performing digital experiences. The role combines elements of enterprise support services and architecture, endpoint automation, experience analytics (DEX), device lifecycle management, and collaboration tools. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on technical execution. You will collaborate with C-level stakeholders, technical teams, and cross-functional partners to create roadmap strategies, solution proposals, and transformation plans that address customers’ evolving needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Architecture & Strategy
    • Develop target reference architectures and transformation roadmaps for digital workplace solutions (e.g., digital workplace services, support, Cloud/SaaS integrations, low-code platforms).
    • Partner with senior leadership to assess current IT landscapes, identify capability gaps, and propose forward-thinking strategies aligned with customer business goals.
  2. Technical Leadership & Solution Design
    • Drive high-level solution designs that include components such as endpoint management, automation tooling, and DEX insights.
    • Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning across Windows, Mac, and mobile operating environments to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions.
  3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a trusted advisor to executives, business stakeholders, and clients—often up to CEO level—to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
    • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Sales and Service Delivery) and external vendors to ensure portfolio solutions meet both technical and financial objectives.
  4. Service & Portfolio Development
    • Contribute to new service offerings around digital workplace, including security, automation, collaboration, and AI-driven user experience.
    • Lead and mentor engineering teams and provide technical guidance during implementations, and champion best practices in agile delivery, ITSM/ITIL, and overall solution quality.
  5. Implementation & Delivery Oversight
    • Oversee end-to-end project execution: from proof-of-concept (PoC) to production rollout, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and project timelines.
    • Conduct root cause analyses, troubleshoot critical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, enterprise-grade workplace solutions.
  6. Security & Compliance
    • Integrate security requirements into all aspects of the digital workplace ecosystem, following frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, or equivalent standards.
    • Ensure solutions adhere to compliance and governance protocols, including identity and access management best practices.
  7. Continuous Improvement & Thought Leadership
    • Remain up to date on emerging technologies (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AI-based DEX, virtualization solutions) and incorporate relevant innovations into service offerings.
    • Evangelize and lead workshops/training sessions to upskill teams and foster a culture of innovation within the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Extensive Experience in Digital Workplace & Architecture
    • Proven ability to define and deliver complex digital workplace architectures spanning cloud, devices, applications, and security domains.
    • Strong background in end-user computing (Windows, Mac, Mobile), including endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, Jamf) and virtualization (e.g., AVD, Citrix).
  • Automation & Performance Analysis
    • Hands-on expertise with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar), DEX tools, and performance analyzers (e.g., Windows Performance Analyzer).
  • Collaboration Platforms & Integration
    • Experience with Google Workspace (advanced administration, APIs, scripting) or Office 365, including identity management (SSO, SCIM provisioning).
    • Familiarity with cloud identity platforms (Okta, Azure AD) and integrating third-party applications into a seamless digital workspace.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving transformation initiatives from concept to execution.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor technical staff, influence C-level executives, and facilitate cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Project & Service Management
    • Experience with Agile methodology, ITSM/ITIL processes, change management, and vendor/partner management.
    • Skilled in building business cases, writing proposals, and estimating project timelines and costs.
  • Education & Certification
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; TOGAF or similar architecture certifications a plus.
    • 6+ years of professional experience in Digital Workplace, IT Architecture, End-User Computing, or similar roles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Specializations
    • Security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
