Summary

The Contracts Operational Manager provides support for the contracting lifecycle and develops business solutions by applying operational expertise within Medical Affairs. The role involves partnering across departments for end-to-end planning and execution.

About the Role

This position is based in Mexico City. Novartis does not offer relocation support; only apply if you can access this location.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contract Lifecycle Management: Manage contract processes, utilize tools for daily operations, provide feedback to improve practices, and report on metrics and process enhancements.
  2. Contract Execution: Manage contractual documents, especially compassionate use agreements for MAPs, ensuring adherence to SOPs, approvals, and timely finalization.
  3. Team Management: Coordinate with NOCC C&BS Associates, oversee workload, and prioritize tasks.
  4. Collaboration: Work with US teams, communicate with legal and patent departments, and support contract negotiations and training.
  5. Strategic Planning: Assist in developing tactical plans aligned with company strategies and support project initiatives.
  6. Business Solutions Execution: Track milestones, identify improvements, manage risks, and develop contingency plans.
  7. Budget Management: Ensure compliance with laws and guidelines, evaluate risks, and re-prioritize as needed.
  8. Stakeholder Communication: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and timely resource delivery.
  9. Knowledge Management: Maintain expertise in US laws, regulations, and research operational management, including various research projects and agreements.
  10. Qualifications: 7-10 years in pharma, 5+ years in operations, 5-7 in contracting; managerial experience preferred. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. Strong negotiation, budget, and legal knowledge necessary. Proficiency in English (C1-C2 level).
  11. Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and leadership skills. Ability to manage complex projects and work independently.
