ROLE OVERVIEW
About the Client:
The client is a rapidly scaling, technology first restaurant company that specializes in operating and optimizing Asian style food concepts through ghost kitchens that follow a delivery only model.
The company positions itself not as a traditional restaurant, but as a data driven operations platform that happens to make food. Its core philosophy is “Made With Soul, Perfected With Science”, relying heavily on proprietary systems and Machine Learning to engineer culinary excellence and customer retention in a systematic way.
About the Role:
The client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Assistant Operations Manager with a strong focus on data and analytics. This is a senior level, full time remote role that is essential for supporting corporate growth by directly assisting the Operations Manager and COO.
The ideal candidate is a high quality, professional talent who is excited to work inside a fast moving, data focused restaurant environment, is comfortable working with numbers and operational data, and is interested in building a long term relationship with the corporate team.
This person will not just follow up with locations. The core of the role is to gather, organize and analyze performance data from multiple locations, turn it into clear insights and support leadership in making better decisions, while also helping to ensure that action items are tracked and executed.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Performance Analytics
- Analyze operational metrics across locations such as order accuracy, ticket times, customer ratings, labor costs and other key performance indicators.
- Review performance data on a regular basis to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Build and maintain simple reports, dashboards and trackers that make performance visible to leadership and location managers.
- Prepare clear performance summaries and talking points for regular check ins with location managers and leadership.
Accountability and Follow Through
- Track manager and location level action items that come from performance reviews and ensure accountability and follow up.
- Help Operations and leadership make sure that agreed changes, experiments and improvements are actually implemented in the field.
- Document outcomes of initiatives and feed learnings back into the operating playbook.
Compliance, Quality and Data Gathering
- Support compliance and quality assurance efforts by helping to monitor execution at the store level, which may include reviewing camera footage or digital logs when required.
- Gather, clean and structure operational data from different systems so that it can be used effectively for analysis and decision making.
- Help the Operations Manager maintain accurate documentation, logs and records related to compliance and performance.
Documentation, Reporting and Process Support
- Assist with creating and updating operational reports, playbooks, checklists and documentation of procedures and experiments.
- Contribute to improving and refining standard operating procedures based on data and feedback from the field.
- Provide administrative backup for operational tasks that are currently handled by the offsite corporate team, such as coordination of information flows, basic financial or HR related support tied to operations.
Growth and Scaling Support
- Play a key role in supporting the company's growth goals by helping leadership see what is working at each location and where to focus improvements.
- Assist in building scalable systems and reporting rhythms that can support a growing number of locations and concepts.
- Partner with leadership on special projects related to new locations, menu tests or operational experiments, particularly where structured data and reporting are needed.
Tools and Technology
- Work inside the company's core tools, such as Notion and other internal systems, to organize information and keep operating data up to date.
- Make effective use of AI tools such as Claude or similar platforms to help structure information, summarize findings and draft reports.
- When applicable and depending on experience, help design or support simple automations that make data collection and reporting more efficient.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- Proven experience in an operations, data, business analytics or project coordination role where performance metrics and accountability were central.
- Experience in multi location environments, high volume operations or fast paced service businesses is highly desirable.
- Industry experience in restaurant, food service or hospitality is a strong plus, but not strictly required if the candidate has excellent analytical and operational skills and is willing to learn the industry.
Analytical and Technical Skills
- Strong analytical skills and high comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets and operational data.
- Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel for building trackers, reports and simple models.
- Proven ability to learn new platforms quickly and work across multiple systems.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Notion, project management platforms and other remote work tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude or similar platforms is a plus.
- Experience setting up simple automations or data flows using tools like Zapier, Make or similar platforms is a strong plus and would place the candidate at the higher end of the pay range.
Soft Skills and Culture Fit
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to clearly communicate findings, risks and recommendations.
- Very high attention to detail and accuracy in handling data and documentation.
- Strong ownership mindset with a bias toward action, follow through and accountability.
- Open minded, coachable and willing to learn the company's procedures and systems while also bringing their own expertise to the table.
- Comfortable working closely with a US based leadership team and functioning as a true extension of the corporate office.
- Values long term collaboration and is interested in growing with the company over time.
