A global mining company is seeking a Technical Expert for underground operations in Papua, Indonesia. The role involves leading the caving operations, training supervisors and crews, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. Candidates should have extensive experience in underground mining practices, preferably with a degree in mining engineering. Fluency in English and cultural adaptability is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor other employees are critical for success in this role.

Reporting to the Manager, Deep Mill Level Zone (DMLZ / PB4) production blocks in all aspects of underground caving operations including undercut / drawbell drilling and blasting activities as well as the implementation of long hole drill improvements. This Technical Expert role requires not only technical expertise, but also the ability to transfer knowledge to others within the organization in a multicultural environment. This position involves gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Indonesian and Papuan culture, as well as building relationships, solving problems creatively as a team, and effectively communicating in different styles. The Technical Expert must also have a continuous learning mindset, be patient, adaptable, and able to work in an environment where work and personal life mix. Additionally, a strong sense of collaboration, mentoring, coaching, questioning, and influencing skills are essential for success in this role.
