Client Overview

The company is a foreign‑owned charcoal briquette factory with extensive experience in the industry, operating a production facility in Central Java and serving both domestic and international markets. The factory specializes in producing premium‑grade coconut shell charcoal briquettes, combining natural resources with advanced production expertise. Its supply chain supports the full production cycle, from sourcing raw materials to final delivery. The business primarily serves B2B clients across consumer goods, industrial products, and export sectors, ensuring consistent quality at scale. With strong engineering leadership, the company focuses on maintaining high production standards, continuous improvement in equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and adherence to safety regulations to achieve world‑class operational performance.

Job Role

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA/QC function, oversee audits, maintain the quality management system, manage QC teams and ensure compliance with industry standards across all production stages. This role requires strong analytical capability, structured problem solving, and leadership in implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain quality management frameworks, SOPs, and documentation to ensure compliance, traceability, and readiness for audits.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor QC teams and supervisors through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
  • Lead daily/weekly quality reviews, coordinate internal and external audits, and facilitate multidisciplinary teams to resolve quality deviations.
  • Monitor quality performance across all production stages, analyze data, investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure raw materials meet quality standards through coordination with Supply Chain & Purchasing.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance quality performance, validate new materials or processes, and implement industry best practices.
  • Handle customer complaints by investigating issues, ensuring resolution, and reporting outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed quality performance reports for GM Operations and support annual management review with strategic quality recommendations.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC or manufacturing quality experience, preferably in biomass production (pellets, briquettes, coconut-based products), chemical, materials, powder processing, agriculture‑based plants, light industrial production, or charcoal briquettes.
  • Experienced in quality systems, audits, document control, root cause analysis, and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Proven ability to lead QC teams and manage cross‑functional quality improvement projects.
  • Knowledgeable in ISO 9001 implementation, QMS, SPC, Six Sigma, and other quality tools.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools such as Minitab, Power BI, SAP, and SPSS.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, planning, and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail, structured documentation habits, and process‑driven mindset.
  • Committed to upholding company core values and standards.
  • Willing to be based full‑time in Karanganyar, with adequate English proficiency to understand technical terms.
