Job description

Our client is a leading international food manufacturing group with significant operations in Indonesia. The company operates a large-scale production facility and continues to demonstrate strong and consistent year-on-year growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the procurement of imported and locally sourced agricultural raw materials, including supplier selection, contracting, negotiation, and cost optimisation.
• Manage the sourcing of key food commodities used in the production of soft drinks, instant noodles, biscuits, and other processed food products, such as sweeteners, grains, starches, oils, cocoa-derived products, and related agricultural inputs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure reliable, competitive, and sustainable sourcing.
• Manage price-risk exposure and hedging activities in line with internal risk-management policies.
• Source food and food-ingredient commodities globally, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and supply requirements.
• Monitor market intelligence, including pricing trends, supply–demand dynamics, imports, and competitor activity, and provide regular insights to internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, IBP, and Government Relations to align procurement strategies with volume planning, risk exposure, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, governance, and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement on global markets.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Strong understanding of price-risk management and hedging instruments (e.g. futures, swaps, exposure tracking).
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail, particularly in contracting, hedging, and volume management.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across internal and external stakeholders.
• Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
