About the Role

Lead investment services and middle office functions, including but not limited to monitoring equity & fixed income transaction settlement and analyzing & reporting general account, unit-linked investment & pension fund performance.

Job Description
  • Develop Investment operations and middle office procedures, overview and monitoring, in accordance with Investment Standard & Policies
  • Trade Processing & Settlements issue identification, procedures development, overview & monitoring
  • Operational Risk assessment for Investment function across Front, Middle and Back Office through Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework to identify areas for attention
  • Compliance and Risk Management issue identification, procedures development, overview and monitoring
  • Review SLA / Agreement related to the investment activities with related parties (custodian, Banks, Fund Managers and Securities House)
  • Proactive with translating insights from strategy to actionable initiatives that can improve results
  • Disciplined and transparent in executing initiatives by balancing change and driving outcomes
  • Open minded, listens and takes into consideration different views of stakeholders to make decisions that maximize meeting needs of customers to create win-win solutions for all involved
  • Identifies strengths and weaknesses of the team to optimize opportunities for development and growth
  • Maintains good supervisory oversight with service vendors as well as strong working relationships with third parties and other functions
  • Elevates MO function to become trusted advisors and partners to key users, by providing strong, valuable analytical insights for portfolio investments
  • Leverages appropriate technology and embraces tools and systems to generate better analyses
  • Leads a key component of an important project
Job Requirements
  • Min.10 years of relevant experience
  • Deep understanding of day-to-day investment operations and market practices of investment products across different asset classes, investment performance and risk analytics and how they fit into the overall business strategy of AIA Investment
  • Experience working and managing Performance Analytical Reporting tools and Systems (e.g. Eagle PACE)
  • Strong leadership skills at managing a broad team with dynamic roles
  • Deep expertise in multiple functions of Investment operations (e.g. settlement and reconciliation, technology, data, operational risk, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of overall business strategy of AIA Investment and how such translates to technology and operation requirement
  • Strong awareness of evolving technologies and market practices to develop and maintain an effective operation function
