About the Role

The Marketing & Digital Experience team at UNSW dually strengthens recruitment efforts, positioning the university as the top choice for local and international students, as well as enhancing UNSW’s global brand reputation by creating sharper brand distinctiveness and amplifying UNSW’s globally renowned expertise.

The Future Students Manager, Indonesia assists in the development and implementation of international student recruitment strategies across Indonesia to achieve enrolment targets for UNSW full degree programs.

Liaising with a wide network of internal (including Admissions, Faculty staff & UNSW College) and external stakeholders, the Future Students Manager will work as part of the Indonesia regional team to manage a network of agents, high schools, sponsors and other industry partners.

The Future Students Manager reports to the Country Director, Indonesia, works with the UNSW Indonesia team and has no direct reports.

Accountabilities

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Support the implementation of international student recruitment strategies to achieve enrolment targets in designated markets.
  • Provide accurate program advice on undergraduate, postgraduate, pathways and non-qualifying programs across UNSW.
  • Lead the Indonesia-wide approach to one of our priority recruitment channels in consultation with key stakeholders in Indonesia and at UNSW.
  • Contribute toward the development and implementation of student recruitment sales and marketing plans for the region.
  • Drive performance across partner recruitment networks to manage and meet recruitment targets.
  • Ensure advice to international future students is compliant with ESOS and national code and complex issues discussed and/or escalated to the Deputy Director Indonesia.
  • Effectively utilise and leverage the UNSW CRM, ensuring that future student information and key data is entered, stored and effectively used to maximise recruitment, conversion and enrolments across programs.
  • Guide direct applicants, and education agents and sponsors, through the application stages, including liaising with Faculty Student Centres, Program Authorities, and relevant UNSW and UNSW College admissions teams.
  • Monitor enrolment trends and report on all phases of the recruitment process to Recruitment Partnerships Manager.
  • Contribute to the on-boarding process of new agents/sponsors, agent/sponsor enquiries, and the payment of agent commissions within the region.
  • Support the delivery of the University’s market and channel diversification strategies as applied to your region, building and nurturing relationships with additional key recruitment partners (as required) including schools, articulation partners, sponsors, government and industry bodies to support enrolment growth, diversity, and quality.
  • Ensure that mutual respect, cultural awareness, and cultural sensitivity form the basis of the professional working relationships.
  • Consistently and clearly articulate the value of the UNSW brand and always represent UNSW in a professional manner. Attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong relationships with current and future students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners, and other external institutions.
  • Work collaboratively within the wider university community on international sales, marketing and recruitment projects and initiatives.
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.
Skills and Experience
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training, and international student recruitment experience.
  • Prior experience successfully dealing with a variety of stakeholders from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience operating in a CRM environment.
  • Highly developed customer service skills with an innovative approach to go the extra mile.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and productively as an effective team member to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of students, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
