A leading chemical distributor is seeking a Business Development Manager to establish market strategies and support the sales team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in product management or technical sales. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and proficiency in English is required. This role offers the opportunity to work in a multi-cultural environment and involves some travel.
Establish and drive the ‘Go to Market’ Strategy of the solutions of our principals to sales team for better market penetration and success
Prepare the sales pitch in line with each market specifications and applications
Collaborate with Value Added Service team to prepare technical sales pitch
Support the sales team with sales toolkit (market data, documentation, training etc) and contribute in the preparation/organization of customer visits and trade fairs/sales events
Enable and manage sampling banks for development
Enable sales teams are trained and enabled
Track and review sales project pipeline of the principals for excipients
Consolidate and report to Principal Management team on market insights and challenges
Responsible of the product stewardship, e.g. complaint management, compliance and documentation
Support marketing activities by market research and market knowledge
Take up any additional responsibilities assigned
Job Requirement/Specification:
Bachelor’s Degree Level, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Science
Minimum 5 years in product management, technical sales or business development with R&D or formulator background. APAC regional experience and experience in distribution will be highly advantageous.
Good communication skill and work effectively at executive, midlevel management and operating levels and customer organizations
Strong interpersonal skills able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
Proficiency in English is essential, fluent in Mandarin and any SEA language is an added advantage
Able to travel as required
