Warehouse Operative - Despatch loaders. Stead House Distribution Centre, Darlington. Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 10pm–6am. Total Hours per Week: 40.

This vacancy is for the Savers DC known as Stead House Distribution Centre; based in Darlington. The hours will be predominantly as stated above but flexibility will be required across all other shift patterns.

The Warehouse operative working in the Dispatch area plays a key role in ensuring that the customers (stores) orders are picked and loaded in a neat, accurate and safe manner to meet daily deadlines. You will be required to work out weights when loading, so a high level of numeracy is required. This role will report to the Operations Team Leader for Stead House Distribution Centre.

• Loading/unloading cages on a daily basis
• Asset tracking cages in and out of the DC + cage tracking on wins
• Ensuring all agreed daily/weekly work performances are achieved to the required standard as a minimum
• Always maintaining excellent loading standards
• Ensuring that all loaded stock is clean and undamaged, reporting any issues to your Line Manager
• Keeping the work area clean and tidy by adopting a "Clean-As-You-Go" discipline. (This may include, but not limited to: cleaning up spills, wiping down surfaces, removing waste bins and generally keeping the work area, tools and equipment clean, safe, and free from hazard)
• Assisting the Operational Team in all aspects of Health and Safety and reporting all accidents/incidents/near misses immediately to your Line Manager.

• Previous despatch experience within a warehouse environment (not essential)
• Experience of bar code readers (HHT) would be an advantage
• Flexible approach to performing other duties within the warehouse as requested by your Line Manager
• High level of numeracy
• Excellent time and attendance record
• Good teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work on your own
