Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Job description
Passionate about the past? Do you want to inspire the historians of the future?

Teacher of History Required for September 2025 Full-time or 0.8 FTE considered

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of History to join a thriving and successful secondary school in the Redhill area. Judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted, our school provides a supportive and vibrant learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate historian to join a dynamic and well-resourced department. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach History across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially 5. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that ignite a curiosity for the past and develop critical thinking skills.

Our History Curriculum:

At Key Stage 3, our students explore a broad chronological sweep of British and world history. At GCSE, we follow the Edexcel specification, covering topics such as Medicine in Britain, Weimar and Nazi Germany, and the Cold War. Our A-Level students currently study the AQA specification, delving into modern American history and the English Revolution. A commitment to enriching our students' learning is at the heart of our department, with a range of trips and extracurricular activities offered.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have a genuine passion for History and the ability to convey this to students of all abilities.
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Be a collaborative team player, willing to contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Be supportive of the school's Christian ethos and its core values of belonging, education, determination, excellence, and service.

Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs), for whom a comprehensive induction programme is in place, and more experienced practitioners.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

We are conveniently located with excellent transport links to London and the South Coast, and within walking distance of beautiful countryside.

To Apply:

If you are an inspiring teacher ready to take on this rewarding challenge, we would love to hear from you. Apply now, or call Paul Hirchfield on 01293 527416. paul.hirchfield@randstadeducation.co.uk

Randstad is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. We are an equal opportunities employer.
