Highways Asset Lead: Strategy, Renewal & Delivery
Job summary
A local government body in York is seeking a Highways Asset Manager to lead a dedicated team of Asset Engineers. This role involves overseeing the strategic management of highways assets in line with the York Local Transport Policy and managing complex maintenance programmes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and ensure project delivery within budget. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact the local transport infrastructure significantly.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of dedicated Asset Engineers to deliver high-profile, complex highways maintenance programmes.
- Develop transparent long-term capital renewal and ongoing maintenance programmes to maximise efficiencies within the budget.
- Act as the client under CDM regulations and, where required, as the principal contractor or principal designer.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, framework consultancies and contractors.
