Job Overview

Support Worker / PA – Surrey, GU22. Part‑time after‑school position to assist a teen with a physical disability living in Woking. Pay: up to £20.50 gross per hour.

Location & Transport
  • Nearest station: Not applicable – driver with own car is essential.
  • Driving requirements: Own mode of transport required.
Pay & Hours
  • Salary/Wage: £18.50 weekdays, £20.50 weekends (gross per hour).
  • Days & Hours: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 4:30 pm–8:15 pm; additional hours during school holidays.
  • Start date: ASAP.
Pet Considerations
  • Pets: 2 friendly dogs.
Key Responsibilities & Scope

The afternoon shift starts promptly at 4:30 pm as the client arrives home from school. The support worker will assist with snacks, chill, therapy, dinner, bath and bedtime, following the client’s plan each day. During school holidays there is further scope for planning activities, day trips, etc. The night carer will arrive at 8:00 pm for handover.

Qualifications & Desired Experience
  • Essential: Experience supporting a young person with a physical disability, confidence with manual handling, keen interest in sports and music, excellent communication and organisational skills, non‑smoker/non‑vaper.
  • Desirable: Experience working within a family setting.
About the Client

The client, Jacob, is 16 years old, lives at home in Woking with his parents and younger brother. He is an engaging, funny, and charming young man who loves football, music, gaming, swimming, cooking and skiing. Jacob has cerebral palsy, is a wheelchair user, weight‑bearer, and requires assistance with transfer and use of equipment such as a Sara Steady. There is a lift in his home that he uses for getting up or downstairs.
