Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant Location: Croydon, Greater London Position Type: Full Time Hours: 8:00am- 4:00pm Pay: Paid to scale We are seeking a dedicated and professional Primary Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Croydon, Greater London. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant NVQ qualification and will be committed to enhancing the educational experience of our pupils, supporting the professional staff, and contributing to a nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the classroom teacher in the delivery of educational activities and lessons, providing support to individual students or groups as required. • Help to create and maintain a safe, orderly, and engaging learning environment, with the ability to manage classroom resources effectively. • Supervise students during non-classroom times, including lunch breaks and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and promoting positive behaviour. • Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons and educational materials in collaboration with the classroom teacher. • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher, identifying any additional support needs for students. • Participate in school-wide events and staff meetings, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching assistant skills and knowledge. Qualifications: • NVQ Level 2 or higher in Support Teaching & Learning in Schools or equivalent. • Experience in a primary school setting is preferable, but not essential. • Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for education. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain a professional manner with staff, students, and parents.
