Grade: MPS/UPS (Depending on experience) + TLR2B
Our client, a vibrant and inclusive secondary academy based in Swindon, Wiltshire, is seeking an ambitious and motivated Second in History to join their successful Humanities department on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and committed History teacher ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will support the Head of Department in leading a passionate team, driving academic excellence, and delivering an engaging History curriculum that inspires curiosity and historical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the strategic leadership and development of the History department
Teach high-quality History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable)
Assist in curriculum planning, assessment, and the monitoring of student progress
Lead on areas of departmental improvement and contribute to raising attainment
Mentor and support colleagues, including early career teachers
Promote a love of history through enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching History across a range of key stages
A proven track record of strong classroom practice and pupil outcomes
The ability to lead, inspire, and support colleagues
A commitment to continued professional development and whole-school contribution
