An education recruitment agency in Salford is looking for Youth Workers to serve as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools. This role allows you to leverage your youth work skills to engage with students, supervise classes, and support their social and academic development. Ideal candidates should have experience in youth work or mentoring, and a passion for education. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background in youth work, mentoring, outreach, coaching, or behaviour support who want to make a real impact in the classroom.
- Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher
- Deliver pre‑prepared work to students across various subjects
- Use your youth work skills to build positive relationships and manage behaviour effectively
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic development
- Work on a flexible, supply basis—choose daily or short‑term assignments based on your availability
- Experience in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, pastoral support, or similar roles
- Confidence working with young people aged 11-16
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to motivate and engage learners
- A calm, approachable, and resilient personality
- An interest in exploring a future career in education (training and development opportunities available)
- Use your existing relationship‑building and behaviour support skills in a school environment
- Gain hands‑on classroom experience without needing QTS
- Excellent pathway into teaching, pastoral roles, or school behaviour support
