Job summary

A supportive educational organization in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role requires understanding Key Stage 1 teaching methods and experience with additional communication needs. Responsibilities include assisting in lesson delivery, developing communication skills, and maintaining progress records. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate individual eager to make a difference in a child's learning journey.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Key Stage 1 teaching methods.
  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Ability to identify and respond to a pupil's triggers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD.
  • Assist in the delivery of pre-planned lessons.
  • Implement strategies for managing behavior.
