Teaching Assistant (SEN Support) – Hull Primary School

Full Time | Term Time Only | Academic Year

Salary: £90 to £105 a day

Contract: Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Hull, supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Non‑Verbal, and SEMH Needs.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Supporting children in EYFS and Key Stage 1, with a focus on pupils with Autism.
  • Working with children who may be non‑verbal, adapting communication methods to suit individual needs.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to ensure pupils can access learning and thrive in the school environment.
  • Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning and care plans.
Key Information regarding Primary Teaching Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 (Term Time Only)

Location: Hull

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
  • Experience working in a school setting, or in a role supporting children or vulnerable individuals.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection; successful candidates must satisfy all background checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
